Ennis Web Design

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much does a website cost?
A: Cost greatly depends on the features and volume of data unique to your particular project. Although Ennis Web Design doesn't really offer a "cookie-cutter" basic site, you can expect a very basic site to start at five hundred dollars. These are sites that do not grab the visitor's attention for any period of time, but give the basics such as who you are, what you do, and how to contact you, and that's about it.

You can expect to budget one thousand dollars and (way) up for sites with any database interaction, custom interfaces, graphic and audio services, copy writing and other advanced services. The current rate for any custom programming by Ennis Web Design is $75 per hour. Graphic and audio services start at $100 per hour. Your best bet is in knowing what you want already, or we can help you determine what would work well for your industry, and then getting a quote on a project with a finite scope. That way, you can budget, and we can properly plan for your site, and work in any package discounts that may be possible to extend to you.

On-going costs are:
Doman name registration - Usually costs about $35 per year, but there are discount registrations services available, and bulk rates for advance payment of registration fees (up to 10 years), and multiple domains.
Site Hosting - Starts at $20 per month for most "personal" hosting plans that may be included with your dial-up internet service. Typically, this type of account is intended for non-commercial use only and provides minimal storage space and traffic allotments. Commercial hosting with your own domain name and email addressses usually starts at about $50 per month for full server access and relational databases. Other charges for extra data storage, large amount of traffic, or enhanced services such as multimedia and ecommerce will incur additional costs.
While I recommend utilizing my hosting services, I can set your site up on the host of your choice.

Q: What should I provide?
A: Here is a good list of things to provide to someone developing a website for you:

Q: Does it matter that you are over there and I am over here?
A: Not usually, unless you want to talk over lunch on a regular basis. Ennis Web Design has clients in Southern Oregon, the Northcoast of California, San Francisco vicinity, Los Angeles vicinity, San Diego, New Orleans, Ohio, Florida and Illinois. We also have established relationships with other businesses in most of these locations, and can call on them to help if need be.
